Pretty Florals colour challenge – Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Image of a handmade card, with a focal point of three flowers

Welcome to the Stamping Green! We have another colour challenge for this month’s Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. Here is the picture we were given for inspiration:

I feel like I have cheated for this month’s challenge, as when I was looking through my Designer Series Papers (DSP), I found a sheet in the Splendid Autumn 6×6 pack which had almost all the colours listed! And I felt it matches in with the image as well, with leaves and a bit of blue sky.

I used a 4cm strip of the DSP and adhered it to a 4.5cm strip of Crushed Curry card stock. This was then adhered over a Basic White mat that had been embossed using the Birch wood 3D embossing folder. The card base is Calypso Coral.

I used the Pretty Florals die set to cut the flowers but couldn’t work out what colour I wanted to use for the petals and ended up with three different versions on the desk. I finally decided to use the Cajun Craze petals with Crushed Curry stems. This was adhered to a circle of Calypso Coral, cut using my favourite Stylish Shapes dies. I placed one layer of dimensionals under the two outer flowers, and a double layer under the middle flower.

The sentiment was stamped using Cajun Craze ink and die cut using a banner die, again from the Stylish Shapes die set. I used the dark Cajun Craze Blend to colour three small Rhinestone Basic Jewels before adding them to the card.

Please see the list below & hop through all of the team in the list to see all the projects.
