A bit about me

My papercraft journey began in 2004 when my daughter was chosen to go to Japan to attend a youth convention. She needed to create a scrapbook of her life here in Melbourne to give to her host family. I had always loved photography but used to store my photos in the old sticky paged albums. Scrapbooking opened my eyes to what could be done, both to make the photos safer, and to tell a story.

Then around 2010, my penfriend Rose, in New Zealand, started sending me beautiful handmade cards for birthdays and Christmas. She and her family came over to stay with us at the end of September 2010 as they were going to a wedding so I asked her to bring some cardmaking things to teach me. I already had cardstock from my scrapbooking, so it was an easy decision to start making cards as well. She told me she goes to Stampin’ Up! classes back home so I looked to find a demonstrator near me and started doing classes. I enjoyed making the cards and the reactions I got from people I gave them to. But I hadn’t considered signing up as a demonstrator myself until I was away at a crafty weekend with friends and was asked if I could teach them how to make one of the cards I’d done. I was a bit nervous but found I really enjoyed showing them and decided perhaps I could hold classes!

I joined as a demonstrator in June 2015 and have been holding monthly classes since then (except during the Coronavirus lockdowns of course).

I send out a newsletter fortnightly with all the Stampin’ Up! news as well as telling you ways to use all the lovely products. You can sign up for this newsletter in the form on the right.

I would love to help you with your papercrafting needs – please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Happy crafting

Sharni
