Welcome to my post in the Let’s Craft together Blog Hop, where this month we were challenged to CASE the catalogue. The brand new Sept-Dec 2024 Mini Catalogue from Stampin’ Up! is released today, so this is the perfect time for us to show you some of the new products.
I’ve chosen this card on page 30 to CASE. It features the Nests of Winter suite collection.
I chose to use the Surfing Santa stamp set on page 55 (because in Australia its Summer when we have Christmas in December). I used the So Swirly embossing folder on Balmy Blue card stock, instead of the birch embossing folder, to give the illusion of waves.
I stamped the wave image full strength in Balmy Blue, then again without re-inking, several times to create more waves, instead of using Designer Series Paper.
Then I stamped the surfing Santa image and coloured it in with Blends. I used Real Red and Granny Apple Green on his shorts to keep with the Christmas theme. Next, I had to fussy cut the image out.
The sentiment strip is Crumb Cake, with the sentiment stamped in Pecan Pie, then the sand image was done with Crumb Cake, stamped off.
I tucked the wave strip under the sentiment strip then adhered Santa with mini dimensionals.
The waves have had some sparkle added, as well as the glass he is holding and the lenses in his sun glasses, using the Wink of Stella pen.
Here’s a photo that shows the glimmer better.
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Pecan Pie and the shell in Crumb Cake.
Now its time for you to hop along to the next person in the list and see what they have chosen to CASE.
Happy Crafting
