Series 2 begins – a new card swap chain blog hop!

Welcome to our first blog hop for our second Card Swap Chain. A group of Australian Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators formed a group late 2022 to create cards and swap them in a process like a chain letter (although I’ve called it Chinese Whispers cards). The first round of this was a lot of fun so of course we wanted to do it again! We will be doing our blog hops twice a week to show all the cards to you so make sure you watch out for them.

How does this work? The first card in each sequence is an original idea. For this first blog hop, Genna created her card and posted it to the next person. They then CASEd (Copy And Selectively Edit) it and mailed their new card to the next person on the list. This person then cased her card … and so on!  You can see the first card, created by Genna, from this chain by the first link below and follow its progression through to the end. Mine was the eighth in the chain. This is the card I was sent from Monique:

Hand made card, mainly blue with pink flowers in the centre

I used Pretty in Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 2024-2026 In Colour pack for the panels. The two narrower strips are the same size, as are the larger pieces. When adhered, there is a gap but this is hidden by the top panel.

I stamped the onesie from Cutest Onesie in Pretty in Pink, then stamped the buttons in the same colour. There are dies to cut this image out, as well as one to cut out the cute little hanger. The onesie die even cuts a slit for the hanger to go in. The onesie was adhered to the card front using Mini Dimensionals.

I also stamped the sentiment in Pretty in Pink, then fussy cut around it before adhering to my card. To finish the front of the card, I added three In Colour gems.

For the inside of the card, I placed a thin strip of the dotted DSP near the bottom of the Basic White mat. I also die cut a baby rattle from Pretty in Pink cardstock and adhered this above the DSP strip.

I loved the design of this card – so easy to do but looks so effective.

To follow the journey Genna’s card went on, I suggest you start at the top of the blog list below and work your way down.
Don’t forget to leave us a comment – we love hearing from you.

Happy crafting,
