Ink & Inspiration March Blog hop – sketch challenge

Handmade card in hot pink with two squares of printed paper and a diamond square with a cake stamped on it

Thank you for visiting my blog for this month’s Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. This month, we were given a sketch challenge, which are always lots of fun.

This is the sketch we were given

Card sketch

As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to use Designer Series Paper for the two smaller squares. I have used paper from the Unbounded Beauty DSP pack. This contains the colours from the current In Colour range, so I decided to use these to colour my stamped image. I have used the birthday cake image from the Attention Shoppers stamp set. I’ve used Basic Black card stock for my card base, with a mat of Petunia Pop.

For the background, I have used the new Pattern Of Friendship die, which gives a lovely pattern, breaking up the starkness of the plain cardstock.

The sentiment is also from the Attention Shoppers stamp set, stamped in Memento Black. To finish off, I added some bling, using the new 2024-2026 In Colour Flat Pearls which I received while at OnStage, Stampin’ Up!’s convention for demonstrators. These will be available for customers to purchase in May.

I hope you like my take of the sketch. Now its time to continue hopping through the list to see what the others have done.

  1. Sharni, your card is great. I love the DSP you chose and your cake matches so beautifully. Nice use of the background die, too!
