Chain card swap Series 5 begins! Let’s follow Ros’s card

The team have just finished our FIFTH series of our fun chain card swap!

If you haven’t seen our chain card swap blogs before, Tracy Held decided to organise a group of Australian Stampin’ Up! demonstrators for a fun card swap idea. Each member in the group creates an original card, then sends it on to the next person on their list. They then have to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) this card, then send it on. The sending lists are random, so you are not sending to the same person each time. Once the card has been to everyone, it goes back to the designer – who may not even recognise it as their own design! Once the round is completely finished, we can blog about the cards, with each blog hop following one of the cards from the original design to what was sent back to the designer. This is the fifth series we have completed – I love the challenge of making each design my own!

For our first blog hop for this series, we are following Ros’s card. I was the third in this round – to see the progression of each card, I suggest you start at the top of the list of links below my post (if you haven’t already).

I have used Cloud Cover cardstock for the card base, with two different papers from the Florals in Bloom DSP pack. The larger panel has been one of my favourites from this pack and I will be sad when it is no longer available.

The focal mats have been die cut using the Nested Essential dies, in Secret Sea for the larger one, and Cloud Cover for the smaller one. The floral image on this have been die cut using the Pretty Florals dies – the flower from Timid Tiger card stock and the stem and leaves from Summer Splash, to coordinate with the paper used.

The greeting is from the Simply Said stamp set and has been stamped using Secret Sea ink, then die cut using a banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set. Three embellishments from the 2024-2026 In Color Pearls have been added – because every card needs some bling!

This is what the inside of the card looks like when opened out. I’ve used the same paper as the front of the card, and another die cut flower. The sentiment is also from the Simply Said stamp set, stamped in Secret Sea ink.

  1. I love how different this card looks with all the different papers. And you wouldn’t have known how closely you went back to the original design! Awesome.
