We fall in Colours – April challenge

Handmade card, with a bunch of three roses in a frame

I’ve been invited to join a new blog hop, called We fall in Colours. We have been given the following colours to use for our project this month.

Grey Granite      Granny Apple Green       Calypso Coral

As soon as I saw the colours, I knew I wanted to use the Gallery Blooms bundle to create my card. Unfortunately my photos don’t show the colours properly – I think I need to invest in a new lightbox!

I stamped the floral image using Gray Granite ink, then coloured the leaves with my light and dark Granny Apple Green Blends. Sadly, when I tried to use my light Calypso Coral Blend, I discovered it was completely dry. So I pushed a small acrylic block onto my Calypso Coral ink pad to pick up some ink, then used a Blender Pen to colour the flowers.

I embossed a mat of Basic White cardstock using the Beautiful Pattern 3D embossing folder (which has just gone on the Last Chance list). I adhered this to my Calypso Coral card base, then placed a frame cut using the die from the Gallery Blooms dies out of Gray Granite over this.

I die cut my coloured image and adhered it inside the frame using mini Dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set and has been stamped in Granny Apple Green, then the ends flagged.

To finish the front, I coloured three small rhinestones using my dark Calypso Coral Blend then arranged them into a triangular pattern.

Inside of a handmade card, with the sentiment Birthday wishes in the centre, and a green die cut of leaves at the bottom right corner

On the inside of the card, I adhered a mat of Gray Granite, then a smaller mat of Basic White. I stamped the sentiment (again from the Simply Said stamp set) in Calypso Coral ink. Finally, I added leaves, die cut from Granny Apple Green, to the bottom right corner.

Please keep going along through the links to see what the rest of the team have done with these colour combination.
