Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – September Sketch Challenge

Photo of a handmade Christmas card featuring a stamped and die cut Santa image on a pale blue circle

Thank you for joining me for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. This month we have a sketch challenge to create a card for. Here is the sketch we were given.

Card sketch layout

I decided to create my card using the new Online Exclusive bundle – Festive Friends.  This set has some cute figures in it.

Stampin' Up! Festive Friends bundle

I decided to use the Santa figure but any one of these figures would have worked for my card. He has been coloured using the following Blends – Real Red, Black, Ivory and Petal Pink. To make him look more 3D, I used the Light Smoky Slate Blend to create shadows.

For the background, I have used the Soft Waves 3D embossing folder on white cardstock to look like snow drifts. It has been matted onto Basic Black then black twine tied around this panel before adhering to the Crumb Cake card base. I then added a circle die cut using the Stylish Shapes die from Balmy Blue card stock and adhered the Santa image to this using Dimensionals. This was then adhered into place on the mat.

Inside, I have die cut a tree from Balmy Blue to match the circle on the front, using a die from the same bundle. The sentiment is from the Wishing You Joy stamp set (from the Sept-Dec 2025 Mini catalogue).

Please follow the lists below to continue on our blog hop and see what the other members of the team have done using this sketch.
