Bright Colour Challenge using Mixed Florals

Welcome to the Stamping Green. Today, I am participating in the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop, with a Colour Challenge full of bright colours.

This is the prompt we were given.

I love these bright colours! While the photo mentions Summer Time, it’s still winter here in Australia so I’m looking forward to Spring – warmer weather and lots of flowers.

I have chosen to use the Mixed Florals bundle (from the Online Exclusives) for my card. I’ve even managed to include all the colours, although I wasn’t sure how I could put Poppy Parade and Berry Burst on the same card. But the Poppy Parade was perfect to add to the ladybird (as we call them in Australia).

Here’s how I used all the colours. I used Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie for the smaller flowers, Granny Apple Green for the leaves, Berry Burst for the tulips and used a Blending Brush to add Azure Afternoon to my white mat.

I die cut my image once I’d finished colouring it all, and used Dimensionals to raise it slightly from the mat with the Azure Afternoon blended on it.

After die cutting the ladybird, the white edge stood out, so I used the Granny Apple Green Blend to colour the edges so it could sit on the leaves without looking wrong.

I used a cardbase of Blackberry Bliss (forgetting that I should have used Berry Burst to keep to the colour challenge) but I think it goes well with the Berry Burst tulips.

On the inside, I blended a little of the Azure Afternoon into the bottom right corner and placed another ladybird on this.

Now it’s time for you to continue through the blog hop and see what the other members of the Ink & Inspiration team have done, by clicking on the links below.
