Stampin’ Up! held a virtual event on Saturday 1 October, creating three cards. I opened my house to allow friends to come watch and create along with me. Lots of laughter, chatter – and brownies!
The first card was made using the Cottage Rose bundle. We coloured the flower in using Dark and Light Flirty Flamingo and So Saffron Blends, and the leaves with Light and Dark Old Olive Blends. The detailed dies were cut from Crumb Cake card stock. A leaf stamp was stamped using Crumb Cake onto a Basic White mat randomly three times, then the die cut flower attached using Dimensionals. The three detailed dies were then glued into place using Multipurpose glue. The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of So Saffron cardstock and adhered over the flower die cut.
Our second card was created using a bundle which was a pre-release from the upcoming Jan-Jun 2023 catalogue, just for World Card making Day. It is called Warm Welcome. We used Blending Brushes to colour the stamped door before die cutting it. We coloured the arms using Blends but you could also use your watercolour pencils. The card was finished off with a sentiment, bow from linen thread and a cute Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewel for the door knob.
The third card for the session was created using one of my favourite bundles from this mini catalogue – the Cottage Wreaths bundle. We created a stamped wreath by using a leaf stamp five times. We then used water painters to create a watercolour wash background using Old Olive ink on two pieces of Shimmery White card stock, and Flirty Flamingo on a third piece. We die cut two different wreaths from the Old Olive pieces and a bow from the Flirty Flamingo piece and attached these over the stamped wreath. The berries were stamped in Crumb Cake on diagonal edges of the card base before the wreath section was attached using Dimensionals. Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels were placed on the wreath, then a sentiment added to complete the card.
The ladies with me prefer traditional Christmas colours, so we then made the last card again, this time with a Cherry Cobbler mat under the focal piece, and the wreaths die cut from Old Olive and Garden Green card stock. The bow was die cut from Cherry Cobbler card stock. Then we added Red Rhinestone Basic jewels to the wreath.
And here are a couple of photos of the ladies crafting on the day – and the table covered with a LOT of Stampin’ Up! product as I’m also sorting through my retired stock at the moment.
Did you get time to craft on World Card Making Day? If so, I hope you had as much fun as we did!
Happy Crafting!
