We fall in Colours – June colour challenge

We fall in Colours Blog Hop

For this month’s We fall in Colours challenge, we were asked to use the colours Real Red, Timid Tiger and Crisp Cantaloupe to create our project.

To create my card, I used Blending Brushes to add colour to a piece of Basic White card stock, starting with Crisp Cantaloupe at the bottom, then Timid Tiger in the middle, then Real Red at the top.

The sunburst die from the Sunset Coast bundle was used on Basic Black to cut the focal shape. The small black pieces from each ‘ray’ were removed, then the circle was placed back into the mat it had been cut from. This was then adhered to the mat coloured by the blending brushes.

The card base is Timid Tiger, with a mat of Real Red under the black mat.

The three bird silhouettes are from the same bundle. These have been cut from Basic Black and Basic White, and layered so that only a very small part of the white shows – a little messy when using glue! This gives them dimension as well as subtly shadowing them on the card.

The sentiment is from the same bundle. It has been heat embossed in black on Real Red card stock, then layered onto a piece of Timid Tiger.

For the inside, three strips – one of each of the colours – have been adhered to the bottom of the card mat.
