Welcome to the second post in Series 6 of our Chain Card Swap. The Chain Card Swap came about when Tracy Held decided it would be interesting to see if a card would change much from the original if it was sent to a chain of people. Each chain is different so we don’t get cards from the same person in each round, and we don’t send to the same person either.

It starts off with us all creating a card and sending it on to the first person in our list. That person then gets to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) that card then send their version on to the next person in their list, and it continues till the last person sends their card back to the original creator. Some cards don’t change much from start to finish; others are totally different.

The best way to view the progression is to go to the first person in the links below then follow through each step of the chain.

The second chain we are following is from Dannii. I was eighth in this chain.

Here is the card I received from Genna – I love how the pattern from the embossing folder links to the surrounding pieces.

Handmade card

For my card, I used papers from the Moonlight Flora Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. A square die from the Stylish Shapes die set was used to create each square. The pieces were then arranged on the card base with the two centre rows using the full square pieces, and the top and bottom were then trimmed to fit.

For the focal point, a circle was die cut from vellum using a circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set. The fern frond was die cut from Old Olive, using a die from the Fern & Flora die set.

Inside, a different fern frond die from the same set was cut from Mossy Meadow card stock. A strip of one of the papers used on the front was added to the right of the inside, then the fern frond adhered.
