Welcome to the eighth card in the fourth series of our Card Swap Chain.
A group of Australian Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators formed a team to create cards and swap them in a process like a chain letter. The first card in each sequence is an original idea. For this blog hop, it was time for Genna to create a card and post it to the next in the list. Then that person CASEd (Copy And Selectively Edit) it and mailed her card to the next person on the list. This person then CASEd her card … and so on!
This has been a lot of fun and I loved being able to CASE the cards I was sent.
I was the ninth person (second last) in this chain, which meant I was sending my card back to the originating designer, Genna.
This is the card I received from Cindy:

To create my card, I stamped the largest image from the Layers of Beauty stamp set twice onto a piece of Basic White card stock, already cut to the measurement needed as a mat. The image was stamped in Black Memento ink on the top right and bottom left of the mat.
I used the Layers of Beauty masks to add Petunia Pop for the first two masks, and Berry Burst for the third mask. Then Summer Splash was used for the fourth and fifth masks for the leaves.

Then came the tricky part of cutting the resulting images up, to match with the card I was sent. I carefully measured then cut the smallest layer (on the top) using my paper trimmer. Next, I measured and cut the middle square layer. I then cut mats from Berry Burst cardstock that were half a centimetre larger than these three resulting pieces. The pieces were adhered to the matching mat, then carefully adhered together to re-create the first image.
The sentiment ‘”Let’s Celebrate’ is from the Simply Said stamp set, stamped in Memento Black ink, then adhered to a mat of Berry Burst cardstock using Mini Dimensionals.
For the inside, I decided to just use the stamped image and leave it uncoloured.

While this is the last in this blog hop, if you haven’t seen the rest, please go to the top link in the list below and work your way through to see the progression from Genna’s original card to mine.
Happy crafting
