Series 2 card swap chain – following Carolina’s card

Annette Colourful banner with the words Card Swap Chain and a linked chain under the words

Welcome to the ninth blog hop in our second series for our Card Swap Chain.

A group of Australian Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators formed a group to create cards and swap them in a process like a chain letter (although I’ve called it Chinese Whispers cards). The first card in each sequence is an original idea. For this blog hop, Carolina created her card and posted it to the next in the list. Then that person CASEd (Copy And Selectively Edit) it and mailed her card to the next person on the list. This person then cased her card … and so on!

This has been a lot of fun and a great challenge for me to CASE the cards I was sent. You can see the first card from this chain, created by Carolina, by clicking on the first link in the list below, and follow its progression through to the end. Mine was the fourth in the chain.

Annette sent me this card to CASE:-

Hand made card with the spotlight technique, showing five sections highlighted

Annette used the Layers of Beauty bundle for her card. I took her idea and used the Enduring Beauty stamps and masks.

I stamped the large flower image onto my white mat using Memento ink. Next I stamped the image again on another piece of white cardstock and used the masks to colour the image, using Petunia Pop and Berry Burst inks on my blending brushes.

Then I used some of the Deckled Circle dies to cut out five sections. I adhered these over the matching piece on the first mat using Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Layers of Beauty stamp set, stamped in Petunia Pop. I fussy cut the sentiment out, then layered it onto Petunia Pop cardstock and fussy cut the shape out again.

On the inside mat, I used two of the leaves from the masked mat, fussy cut them out and adhered just under a strip of Petunia Pop cardstock.

Now, its time for you to follow on with the blog hop by clicking the next link below. Don’t forget to leave a comment – we love to hear from you.

Happy crafting
