My main card for Christmas this year

Handmade Christmas card - door with wreath

When I first saw the Cottage Wreath bundle in the 2022 July-December Mini catalogue, I knew I wanted to make this year’s Christmas card with a wreath hanging on a door. Luckily the Warm Welcome bundle was released ahead of the next mini catalogue which had the perfect door panels for me to use.

The Stamparatus was used a lot while making this card. Here’s how I created my wreaths.

Create a template to hold the die cut wreath, then cut all my blanks. Place the blank in the template, line up the stamp over the blank once and you have perfect placement every time. Much easier than trying to line up the die after you’ve stamped the image when you are doing so many.

If you have more than one image to stamp, you can line up your stamps on two different plates. Stamp the first image – here I’ve stamped the twig image in Evening Evergreen

Without moving the diecut, stamp the second image – I stamped the leafy stamp in Soft Succulent – before removing the die piece then repeat this process for the rest of the blanks.

I then used the Red Pearlised Enamel Effects to create berries on my wreaths. It does take a while for this to dry – luckily I had a large table to spread them all out on.

I then die cut lots of door panels from Basic White cardstock using the die from the Warm Welcome bundle. I used my blending brushes to add Evening Evergreen to the embossed sections of the door panel. I ran the front panel of the Evening Evergreen card base through the Timber 3D embossing folder to give the door more texture.

Then it was time to assemble them all, and finish them off with a Gold Swirl embellishment for a doorknob.

I also used my Stamparatus to stamp the inside panels for my cards. Get it straight once on the Stamparatus then its easy to pop your mat in and know the sentiment will be straight every time.

When I started doing the sentiments for the inside panel of my cards, I loved the sentiment but thought it needed a little extra so coloured in the berries and leaves using my Real Red and Evening Evergreen Blends.

Have you got a Stamparatus?? It is a great tool for mass production of cards.

Happy crafting

Sharni
