Launch party for 2025-26 Annual Catalogue

Paper bags with a floral image

I held my launch party for the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue on Saturday, joining with a fellow demonstrator, Tracy Held – Trace of Creativity.

Here is the room, all set up ready to go.

Dining room, set up with a display of handmade cards

We gave each of the attendees a bag with a ‘New Catalogue Survival Kit’ which contained the following:

  • BANDAID – for papercuts if you flip through the catalogue too fast
  • NAPKIN – to wipe up the drool
  • POST-IT NOTES – to mark the pages with products you want
  • PEN – to write your wish list
  • WISH LIST – to use the pen on
  • HIGHLIGHTER – to mark things you already have
  • CHOCOLATE – who needs a reason!

They also received a container of goodies – including a card base of each of the new In Colours, a piece of each in Colour DSP, a strip of In Colour embellishments, and a set of bookmarks with a strip of each of the card stock colours Stampin’ Up! have (great for when you aren’t sure which colour you need).

After taking the attendees through the catalogue, we also spoke about Online Exclusives, as there are many great products that are not featured in the new catalogue.

For our Make N Takes, we used products from the annual catalogue for the first one.

Tracy created this card using the Elements of Text stamp set for the background, with the larger image stamped in Crumb Cake, then the smaller blotched stamps in stamped off Crumb Cake, and Strawberry Slush. The main floral image is from the Gallery Blooms stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso. She then used a blender pen with Strawberry Slush ink, to add colour to the flower petals. This is a great way to add a touch of colour, instead of using the Blends. The background mat is also Strawberry Slush, embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.  The card is finished off with a bow tied from the Strawberry Slush ribbon.

The second Make n Take card uses an Online Exclusive bundle, called Sunrise Sailing. It is usually hard to make masculine cards, so this set is great to have to make cards for the men in your life.

The Basic White mat was embossed using the embossing folder from this bundle, centring the yacht image. Secret Sea ink was used to stamp the yacht image, which was then die cut. The hull was coloured using Blends. A blending brush was used to add some Timid Tiger ink to the bottom of a circle, cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock using the largest of the circle dies from the Stylish Shapes dies. The yacht image was then adhered to the circle, lining the top of the yacht with the top of the circle, then adhered so that the hull covers the matching hull of the embossed white mat. Secret Sea ink was then used to stamp the three flying bird images onto the circle. The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set and die cut using a banner die, also from the Stylish Shapes dies. I have placed a 0.5cm strip of Secret Sea cardstock behind the greeting to make it stand out more on the card.

The afternoon finished with a door prize draw – everyone went home with embellishments or ribbon – then afternoon tea of brownies, hummingbird cupcakes and strawberries.

We all had such a lovely time that we forgot to take photos during the afternoon!

Happy crafting
Sharni
