Glow of Harvest DSP – August 2026 Product of the Month

A handmade puzzle slider card made with printed papers in brown, yellow and orange colours

The Glow of Harvest Speciality Designer Series Paper is the Product of the Month for August. It has a lovely subtle shimmer to it. I think it definitely has an autumnal feel to it – not quite right for those of us down in Australia heading into Spring!

August POM

For my card, I decided to make a puzzle slider card as it shows lots of the paper without having just one piece on a card base. The card base is Cajun Craze, and the writing mat and sentiment strip are Very Vanilla.

I used the Stylish Shapes circle dies to create my focal point, using a second paper from the pack. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Lily of the Valley bundle, and has been stamped using Cajun Craze ink.

When this style of card first came out, all the versions I saw had either two or four rows of puzzle pieces. I really wanted a version with three so created my own design.

Here’s how I did it

You will need:

Cardstock for card base – 10.5 x 24.5 cm / 9 ½ x 4 ⅜”
Cardstock (same colour as base) three pieces – 3.5 x 14.5 cm / 1⅜ x 5 ½”
DSP – 9.0 high x 13.5 cm wide / 1 1/8 x 5” (works great with a scene)
DSP or mat for inside – 10.0 x 14.0 cm / 4 x 5 ¼”
Basic White cardstock – 10.0 x 14.0 cm / 4 x 5 ¼” for back writing panel

Here is the template for the card base (metric and imperial)

And here is the template for the puzzle pieces

How to:

  1. Score base along long edge at 2.5, 5, 19.5 and 22cm (1, 2, 7 ½, 8 ½”)
  2. Fold mountain, valley, valley, mountain – burnish folds
  3. Cut first puzzle piece at 3.5cm /1 ⅜, second piece at 7 cm / 2 ¾, third piece at 10.5cm / 4 ⅛”
  4. Cut your DSP into 3 strips, each 3.0 cm / 1 ⅛” wide
  5. Keeping your DSP image aligned, cut top DSP strip at 3 cm/ 1 ⅛”, middle at 6.5 cm / 2 ½”, bottom strip at 10cm / 3 ⅞”
  6. Adhere top DSP strips to the top row of matching puzzle pieces
  7. Adhere middle DSP strips to the second row of puzzle pieces
  8. Adhere bottom DSP strips to the third row of puzzle pieces
  9. Place adhesive on left side of card base. Adhere bottom left puzzle piece so that it lines up with the bottom of the card base and the folded edge.
  10. Adhere middle left puzzle piece directly above this, and top piece above this, lining it up with the top of the card base.
  11. Repeat to add puzzle pieces to the right-hand side of the card
  12. Stamp inside mat if desired or use DSP and adhere to inside of card base
  13. Stamp back writing panel as desired and adhere.
  14. Add any stamped sentiment pieces or embellishments as desired.

Here’s another view, from slightly above, to show you the mechanism better.

I finished the front of the card by adding three copper coloured gems from the Adhesive-backed Metallic Gems pack. Inside, I adhered a small strip of the DSP near the bottom of my writing mat.
